The renovation of Masjid Al-Raza centered on revitalizing its main prayer hall to meet contemporary needs while honoring the spiritual and architectural traditions of the original structure. The design brief emphasized creating a modern yet timeless space that communicates to a newer audience, preserves the mosque's cultural essence, and improves the overall quality of life for its congregation.

A key intervention was the introduction of a custom ceiling design based on geometric proportions, symbolizing order and hierarchy within the sacred space. Complementing this was a bespoke circular metal chandelier, suspended to echo the ceiling's geometry and create a visual anchor in the hall. The material palette leaned heavily on exposed brickwork, chosen for its rustic yet modern aesthetic, its resonance with traditional construction, and its practicality as a low-maintenance solution.

The result is a prayer hall that feels both ancient and renewed—a space where heritage and modernity coexist seamlessly. Executed in 2025, the project reaffirms the mosque's role as a spiritual and communal center, reflecting continuity, reverence, and thoughtful design adaptation.
