RS HOUSE

Modern Facade Uplift is a residential facade renovation project undertaken for an existing property in Naval Anchorage that was previously underutilized and later reoccupied by the owners. The primary objective of the intervention was to redefine the home's street presence by introducing a contemporary architectural expression—one that feels refined, welcoming, and visually cohesive within its urban context.

The design focuses on elevating the outward identity of the house while working within the constraints of the existing structure. Although no major technical challenges were encountered, the unorthodox configuration of the original facade required extensive reworking to achieve balance and clarity in the new composition. These alterations allowed the design to resolve visual inconsistencies and establish a stronger architectural rhythm.

Material selection played a key role in shaping the facade's character. A warm-toned micro-cement finish was employed as the primary surface treatment, providing a clean and modern base. This was complemented by travertine tiles, which introduce texture and material depth. Akora Khattak stone tiles were used across the driveway, grounding the facade with a sense of permanence and regional materiality.

Landscape elements were strategically introduced to soften the built form and enhance the overall frontage. A tropical mix of plant species was used to activate negative spaces around the facade, contributing to a layered visual experience while improving the home's interaction with the street.

The completed intervention transforms a previously dated exterior into a contemporary residential facade that balances modern aesthetics with material warmth—creating a distinct, dignified presence within the neighborhood while aligning with the owners' renewed engagement with the property.
